Accessibility

Silvia is designed for teachers who need fast, predictable grading workflows. Our conformance target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA, and accessibility work is part of pilot readiness and district procurement readiness.

Current Measures

A "Skip to main content" link lets keyboard and screen-reader users bypass repeated navigation on every authenticated page.
Core workflows - sign-in, onboarding, assignment creation, upload, review, feedback edit, settings, and integrations - are keyboard operable, including the file-upload drop zone.
Interactive controls have visible focus indicators, and touch/click targets meet the WCAG 2.2 24×24px minimum.
Form fields use programmatically associated labels (visible or accessible-name-only) rather than placeholder-only text.
Icon-only buttons carry an accessible name via aria-label.
Status is communicated with text and badges, not color alone.
Sign-in uses OAuth (Google / Microsoft) only - no password or cognitive-function-test step, and no information already provided during a flow is asked for again.
Motion respects prefers-reduced-motion site-wide.
Exports are available for grade, audit, and pilot-review data.

External Audit Status

This page describes engineering measures we have implemented, not a completed third-party audit. A formal WCAG 2.2 AA audit or VPAT is not complete yet, and Silvia does not claim full certified conformance until an external review is finished.
